Gingerbread Ghosts
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups sifted, all purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt.
Directions:
In a large bowl, blend together the sugar and the butter. Add the molasses.
Fold in the sifted flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Refrigerate
for at least 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a large
baking sheet. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough until it is 1/8
inch thick. Cut out the cookies with a gingerbread shaped cookie cutter and
place on the baking sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, until lightly browned.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a rack.
Makes 2 dozen.
